Day 51 - Sidney has a new home

Wow, its a bitter sweet day around our house today. On Thursday, a really nice couple came to see Sidney. Mom left me and Tanner and Gizmo down stairs with Dad so they could spend quality time getting to know Sidney without us getting involved. Mom said they really liked her and she had a good feeling that this may be it.
Well I guess they called Mom on Friday and said they really wanted to Adopt "Crosby" aka Sidney aka Sid aka Sid the Kid. Mom was both really happy for her and sad cause everyone will miss her.. ok let me correct that, everyone but me will miss her. Ok well I might miss her a little, but don't tell anyone cause it will ruin my reputation as a tough guy.

They came to pick her up early this morning, they were so excited. It all went well, Mom said her good bye and so did Gizmo and off they went. Mom said she was going to a great home and that she is really happy about it.

Later this morning, it was interesting to see how Gizmo coped with it. It is definitely quiet around her. We got pretty used to Sid & Giz, running around and playing making lots of noise. Gizmo was playing with all the toys by herself, Mom was pretty happy to see that. So she seems to be doing ok by herself but they haven't left her alone yet. Mom said she will bring up the big crate upstairs so Giz will now sleep upstairs at night but still will stay in their room during the day. Oh and mom wants to take Giz to some puppy classes, she says its time to start some serious training with her. Whew, glad it's not me..
Anyway, I will keep you updated on what Mom is doing with AARCS and Gizmo as she grows and hopefully her Heart Murmur goes away as she gets older too.

Have a great day and I do wish Sidney the best with her new family.
Cheers, Kracker

Day 45 - Sid's Big Day at the Adoptathon

Sid asked if she could tell this post since I wasn't invited (again). I'm like ok sure, no prob, go for it.

Hi Sid Crosby here, I'm so excited to tell you about my day. It was really hard and scary at times. So we slept in until 6:45 Saturday morning. Mom was super happy about that. After playing and chasing my sister around the living room Mom finally started to get organized. When we went downstairs she had our crate out.. that is not a good thing, I ran back up stairs. But Foster Mom got me! But things were different this time, she put Giz in our room and put only "ME" in the crate. OMG I was not happy leaving my sister, last time that happened I spent the day at the vets and came home hallucinating. We got in the car and mom went to another Foster Mom's home to pickup her foster puppy Fletcher. Fletcher doesn't like the crate so Mom just put him on the front seat. He was really good didn't make any noise, even though I whined most of the way. When we got the Bowdog there weren't too many people and dogs yet but things were starting to get going. Mom put Fletcher and me in a pen together. Fletcher is a bit younger than me but he is more Giz's size. We really didn't hit it off well.
He kept wanting to play and barking at me and I didn't like that and would snap at him. Yikes, Mom wasn't happy about that and if I don't find my furever home this week she says she is going to find some puppy social play night for me. It sounds fun but I don't know. Soon the place was packed, lots of dogs/puppies and people, and noisy with dogs barking and beagles baying.Yeah, I learned something new, Beagles don't bark they bay, now I know why Kracker sounds so weird when he barks at me.
My pen seemed to have all puppies about the same age, I met Lola(?) Fletcher, Buster, Vanilla Ice and Perry. OK so I gotta talk about Perry, she is my sister but we don't look anything alike. She doesn't look like Gizmo either. But she is sweet and cuddly like we are. She has the same temperament as us, it was neat to see her again, its been a long time.
Here are pics of Perry! And yes she is still available as of this post.

Perry is cute, but hey we were all cute.
Mom spent a bit of time with Rupert, she liked him and he sat really well for treats. I'm still learning that. I cried a lot and tried to get out of the pen. So I also got held a lot. I'm pretty good at making myself look sad.. he he!!!
So there were lots of people that came by and hopefully a lot of dogs/puppies will get adopted from this. There were 7 different rescue groups and all the dogs/puppies deserve furever homes.
Mom took Fletcher and me home at 1, it had been 3 hrs there and more puppies were coming. We were tired too. I think Fletcher had a good time, Mom tried to get pictures of him but they don't do him justice. He is really soft and has these great big floppy ears.
When I got home, I played with Giz for a bit and then napped, I was tuckered out.

Mom says I need to rest up cause I have a family coming to see me on Sunday (oh that's today) I will charm them you wait and see. OH another note about this morning, It snowed a lot last night and boy Giz and I sure love the snow, its so much fun to run in and I always come in with snow on my nose and it makes Mom laugh!!!!

Here are some more pictures of Fletcher and some of the other puppies. Of course we move lots so they aren't great.
